Victoria has so many amazing opportunities to find local, delicious ingredients, as well as specialty items that when put together make the most tasty of dishes. Some times the most fun you can have is playing around in the kitchen with the ones you love, experimenting and making your favourite recipes!

We want to hear about your absolute FAVOURITE recipe! It could be an amazing side dish, entree, dessert, or even a snack. Pop on over to our WesthillsBC Facebook page and post your show-stopping recipe. Once you’ve posted your own recipe review the others and vote by liking someone else’s recipe. In order to get entered into the contest you must first post your own recipe and you MUST like at least one other recipe.

You can gain EXTRA votes by posting photos of yourself and your family making the different recipes. The more photos you post, the more votes you’ll receive.

We know our crepes were amazingly delicious… because you told us! We served over 1,000 piping hot crepes to visitors at the Grand Opening of Glenvale Phase 4 in January and there was not a hungry person in sight. In the spirit of the contest, check out our crepe recipe!

2 lg eggs

3/4 milk

1/2 cup water

1 cup flour

3 tbsp melted butter

1 1/2 tbsp sugar

1 tsp vanilla

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to combine. Add the salt, sugar, vanilla and butter, beating until your batter is nice and smooth. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium to high heat. Pour or scoop (whatever you find easiest) the batter onto the griddle or pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each crepe. Make sure to tilt the griddle/pan with a circular motion so that the batter coast the surface evenly. Cook each crepe for about two minutes per side, or until lightly browned.

Have some fun; we cannot wait to see all of your recipes!
